Building & Infrastructure Projects
Over the past 15 years Epsom College, like many independent schools, has invested heavily in infrastructure projects, which were funded largely through borrowing. Despite the current need for new facilities, Governors recognise it would be imprudent to increase debt levels at this time and any new initiatives will only be undertaken with considerable donor support. There are a number of capital projects that donors could support, including a new Sixth Form Centre.
Donor Support for the Performing Arts
In 2007 the provision for the performing arts was greatly enhanced through a multi-million pound project that was funded through a significant investment from the College and donor support.
The Ron Hancock Performing Arts Studio
An 80 seat theatre was created in a disused building that features a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, and includes a separate dance studio with a sprung floor. Both the drama and dance studios enable pupils to develop their directorial and design skills, as well as their own performance.
Redevelopment of Big School
Big School, the primary venue for a wide range of amateur productions, was redeveloped with significant improvements to the sound system, lighting, seating and overall aesthetics, which have improved the experience for performers and audiences alike.
