Information about Gift Aid

Gift Aid is tax relief on money donated to UK Charities by UK tax payers. In order for Epsom College to make a Gift Aid claim, the donor must complete a declaration form confirming that they pay taxes in the UK. The declaration can apply to a single gift or all current and future gifts. To download a Gift Aid form please click here.

Donations are treated as if the donor paid the basic tax rate of 20%. Those who pay a higher tax rate of 40% or 45% can make a claim back on their Self Assessment Tax Return. The value of Gift Aid on a £100 donation at three tax rates is as follows:

20% rate tax payers can make a gross donation of £125,  at no additional cost

40% rate tax payers can claim an additional £25 back on a gross donation of £125 (£125 x 20%)

45% rate tax payers can claim an additional £31.25 back on a gross donation of £125 (£125 x 25%)
