How to support the Campaign

There are many exciting ways to support the campaign. One of the most popular ways has been through naming rooms in the building. Some of the rooms still available to name include: Classrooms, the Cafe/Gallery area and the Screening Room. Each room will carry the donor's name, and have an engraved plaque with wording of their choice at the entrance to the room.

Another opportunity to Make your Mark on the campaign, is by featuring on our prestigous Donor Board and Naming a Brick as a part of an art installation in the new building. It is also possible to Name a Seat in the Lecture Theatre. Please click here for more information.

We will be shortly launching an initiative which will provide the opportunity to donate via Houses. This will be an opportunity for OEs and parents alike to support the campaign across multiple generations, in appreciation of their much loved Houses.

It is an entirely personal decision how you choose to donate, whether it be with a one-off payment or by regular standing order payments. Whichever route you choose to take, the College is enormously grateful for your support. If you are a UK tax payer, please see the examples below on how your donation can be tax-efficient.

- A 40% tax rate payer can claim tax relief of £250. After tax relief, the total cost of this donation to the donor will be £750.

We are flexible regarding how you pay for your donation and payments can be spread over time. For example, if you would like to donate £1,000, you can pay over 2 years by setting up a standing order at £41.66 per month.

We strongly recommend potential donors visit the HM Revenue and Customs website: www.gov.uk/donating-to-charity/gift-aid for the latest guidelines and information regarding Gift Aid and tax relief, and suggest you speak to a financal advisor.

You can support us in a number of ways beyond financial donations - helping to organise events, spreading the word about our plans, or developing your own fundraising ideas.

Our aim is to get the whole Epsom Community involved with the Campaign. To find out more about the plans for The Mermaid, or to help support the campaign, please contact Education Trust Director, Karen Doyle, at: karen.doyle@epsomcollege.org.uk or on 01372 821290.
