Lower Sixth Networking Night
OEs and parents turned out in force to support Lower Sixth students at their Pathways to Success and Work the Room event on Monday. Organised by Assistant Head: Sixth Form, Mr Nick Russell and the Education Trust & OE Club team, the event followed a presentation to pupils earlier in the day on ‘How to Network'.
The evening commenced with a Q&A session on the theme of Pathways to Success, chaired by Mr Russell. Questions about tips and tactics, common pitfalls and the importance of networking were put to the five panellists (from left to right in the photo): Simon Man (OE and Current Parent), David Jensen (OE), Jane Mumby (Current Parent), (Nick Russell with microphone), Ashley Head (Current Parent) and Victoria Kitcatt (Current Parent), who all shared valuable advice on how to pursue a successful career.
Following the Q&A session, the students practised their networking skills with nearly 60 OEs and parents from a range of professions, who very much enjoyed meeting the enthusiastic students. One parent commented afterwards, "Well done on a lovely evening and probably the most important one to date in my son's life at Epsom. One cannot learn the skill of networking too early, and it was so enjoyable, both for my son and for me."
The College is very grateful to the panellists and all the OEs and parents who supported the event.
