OE to perform at Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Dan Richardson (C 2012-17) will be performing in 'Eat Me' at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August. The play tells the stories of three individuals who are battling against anorexia. Dan will be playing the role of Jonathan, an anorexia sufferer struggling to regain positive control of his life. Dan says, "The illness itself is personified as the character 'Anorexic Voice' (or 'AV'); a malevolent presence who manipulates and suffocates those it has lured into its clutches. Throughout the play, audiences witness three complex journeys as the leading protagonists strive to be free of their destructive, yet seductive tormentor: anorexia.

"Our aim, as a company, is to educate, as well as entertain. There are so many myths and stereotypes surrounding the issue of anorexia, which desperately need dispelling and clarifying. In a time when mental health is slowly starting to enter the foreground of public imagination, the play is more relevant than ever."

Performances will be held at C Venues (Aquila Temple), Roman Eagle Lodge, Johnston Terrace, EH1 2PW. http://www.eatmetheplay.co.uk
