Old Master Moody meets former pupils
A bright and sunny April day shone through the glass ceiling at The Restaurant at The Wallace Collection for the latest, Lunch with an Old Master which featured Roy Moody. Old Holmaniacs, Classics scholars, and cricket enthusiasts shared wine and good food with their former housemaster, teacher and coach. Roy commented "The lunch was an amazing, and rather humbling experience. So much fun too and lots of great memories revived. There were some people I had not seen for nearly 50 years, and all were people that I rejoiced to see again."
Those who attended the College in the 1970s were particularly well represented. Old nick-names were resurrected and the odd story of mischief re-told with particular emphasis on an inability to talk to the first girls to come through Epsom. Chris Musgrave (Holman 1973-78), in an impromptu speech commented, "Roy allowed us to develop as individuals as well as have fun, which is what made him such a wonderful Housemaster. This was a great opportunity to reconnect with someone who had enormous influence at critical time in our lives." The next Lunch with an Old Master will feature Stephen Oliver on 11th June.
