University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) has had at least two OEs in the team since 2012. On Saturday, Cian Barry (Rn 2012-14) and James Francis (G 2009-14), featured in a dramatic overtime win against Dartmouth in the Quarter Final, 33-28.

Down by two clear scores three times in the game and with two players sin-binned, UCLA scored a final try after the end-of-game buzzer had sounded to move within 2 points of Dartmouth, 26-28. In what became NBCs sports ‘Play of the Day', Cian converted the last gasp try from the touchline to force overtime at 28-28. The 'kick of a lifetime', as the commentator called it, trended heavily on social media.

In the first play of added time, James threw a double miss pass to Ben Broselle, the UCLA wing, for his fourth and UCLA deciding score. The NBC commentator was so excited he inadvertently swore on live TV.

Cian and James were part of Epsom's first team, which completed an unbeaten season in 2013. In the semi-final last week, UCLA played and beat an Arizona team featuring a third member of the 2013 record breakers, Fabian Lumsden (Fa 2009-14).

Epsom's link with UCLA started in 2012 when Ben Francis, James' brother,  received a rugby scholarship to UCLA, ranked 9th academically in the world.
